Our course is called a ‘Functional Restoration Programme’ (FRP) and the scientific research is clear – FRP’s are the most effective way to treat chronic spinal pain.

There are huge amounts of science, research and clinical trials to support this approach which began as far back as 1970. What we have learnt from research and experience is that introducing this type of course early on helps people take control sooner.

If you suffer from back or neck pain, our FRP course aims to help you get the most out of life. People often feel a decrease in pain following the course, others improve their lives whilst learning how to take control of their pain and not let it control them.

Why a course and not normal Physiotherapy, Osteopathy etc?

Traditionally, back and neck pain has been treated by a physiotherapist or osteopath on an individual basis. For acute pain early on or a new pain problem, this offers an appropriate approach. However, research has shown that although patients improve following such treatment, there are a particular group who have been experiencing pain for months or years who do not gain long term benefits unless they learn specific ways to manage and understand their pain problem.

It is common for episodes of back or neck pain to continue or to return at a later stage, and patients often have serious concerns that something is terribly wrong or it is not healing properly. They do not understand why they have not found a permanent answer for a problem that regularly disrupts their lives.

Our FRP course is designed to help you understand how to manage your back or neck problem for the rest of your life whilst also improving your ability to perform physically and reduce your pain at the same time.

Gain Control of Your Life

The sooner you take control of your back pain or neck pain, the sooner you take back control of your life.

Whilst there are a growing number of physiotherapists working in pain management, it is still not widely available in the way that we would like. We have developed a course that is not too time consuming, at a realistic cost and available to a wide variety of back and neck pain sufferers who would like to learn a long term way to manage and improve their spinal problem. We hope that this becomes more readily available to everyone who suffers with spinal pain. This is the first step.
